When you have roofing work carried out you are making a serious investment in your home, and the only real way to judge how confident a roofer is in their own work is to look at what they are prepared to put in writing. We back every project we complete with a 20 year full written company guarantee, covering both the workmanship of our roofers and every material we supply and fit.

You receive it as a formal written document when the job is signed off, so there is something solid to keep with your property paperwork for the next two decades. It is not a line buried in a quote, and it is not a handshake on the driveway.

Twenty years is a long time to stand behind a roof, and it is not a commitment we make lightly. It reflects the quality of the materials we buy, the experience of the roofers who fit them, and the simple fact that we would far rather do a job once and do it properly than keep coming back to it. If we did not fully expect our work to last, we could not afford to guarantee it for this long.

What our 20 year guarantee covers

A lot of roofing guarantees are quietly split in two: a short warranty on the labour from the contractor, and a separate manufacturer warranty on the materials that you are left to chase up yourself. Ours is not. We take responsibility for the entire installation, so there is never any question about who you should be calling. Your guarantee covers:

• All workmanship – every part of the installation carried out by our team, from stripping and preparation through to felting, battening, fixing, leadwork, flashings, verges, ridges, valleys and the final finish.
• All materials – tiles, slates, underlay and membranes, flat roofing and EPDM systems, timber, fixings, lead, fascias, soffits, guttering and every other component we supply and fit.
• Weathertightness – if water finds its way in through work we have completed, we come back and put it right.
• Defects and failures – any fault in the materials we supplied, or in the way they were installed, is corrected at no cost to you.
• Labour and parts – repairs under the guarantee are free of charge. No call-out fee, no hourly rate, and no bill for replacement materials.

One phone call, no small print

If something covered by the guarantee goes wrong at any point during those 20 years, you pick up the phone and we come out. There is no claims form to complete, no assessor to wait weeks for, and no argument about which part of the roof belongs to whom. We come and take a look, and if it falls under the guarantee we put it right.

In practice these calls are rare. The vast majority of our customers never need to use their guarantee at all, which is rather the point of doing the work properly in the first place. But knowing that the cover is there, in writing, for two full decades is what lets you stop thinking about your roof and get on with everything else.

Your written guarantee document

When your project is finished you receive your guarantee in writing, setting out the work carried out, the materials used, the completion date and the full 20 year term. Keep it somewhere safe alongside your other property documents.

It is a genuine asset if you ever come to sell. Prospective buyers and their surveyors take real notice of a roof that still has years of company-backed cover remaining on it, and it removes one of the questions that most often slows a sale down.

Why the length of a guarantee matters when choosing a roofer

A guarantee is only ever as good as the company standing behind it. Anyone can print the word “guaranteed” on a leaflet, so the questions worth asking any roofer are straightforward: is the guarantee actually written down, exactly what does it cover, does it include materials as well as labour, and is the company likely to still be here to honour it?
